The Art Class is run by Monica Chrysostomou - a Visual Artist, Designer and Tutor. She offers classes and courses at the Islington Arts Factory and the Art Stables, Finchley, London.

Monica gained her degree at Central/Saint Martin's School of Art. She has an ongoing passion for life drawing, painting, photography and graphic design with 25+ years background in graphic design and art direction.
As a graphic design visiting tutor she has taught at Cavendish College, West Herts College, Central Bedfordshire college and, more recently, Middlesex University.

She now teaches observational drawing and creative painting classes as well as 1-1 private tuition and portfolio assessment.

Reframe edit:
Solo show of Photo-graphic Montages at the Islington Arts Factory, Sept 2019

The show’s title refers to Monica’s approach to her creative process and her innovative journey with photography – from Instagram to her new imagery ‘Photo-graphic Montages’.

Reframe edit: represents a new and exciting way of story telling – experimenting with layers and multiple photographs to create original, evocative and ethereal images. Her multidisciplinary background enables her to think differently about the visual images she can create.

The theme of reframing and editing features across all of Monica’s creative work – life drawing, plein air painting and Instagram photography. These important observational practices continuously feed into and influence her creativity and her approach to teaching.
